Guest Healer Orion - July 1st - 12th
Guest healer Orion will be back at the Hummingbird Center for July 1st – July 12th. Orion is an initiated Australian shaman that specializes in using Shamanic Ritual and Psychokinesis to heal the body, heart, mind and soul. He is trained in Australian Indigenous and Native American Ways; he specialises in healing trauma. Orion also has a PhD in Metaphysical Science - Spiritual Healing and assists with the all-important plant medicine integration process. This will be his seventh visit to the Hummingbird, and in past visits his gentle loving presence, wisdom and rituals have been a blessing to all. He will be offering personal ritual healing sessions that last about 60 minutes and cost $100.
Orion is also the founder of the The Wyla Centre for Wellness, a non-profit organization dedicated to healing trauma, including PTSD. Their program is Integrative Medicine and combines the best of all healing worlds whilst looking to create community in the process. It embraces the best of psychology while integrating the best of the "old" ways including Sweat Lodge and community rituals.
Orion's healing work is ritual based. He is not an ayahuasquero, and during ayahuasca ceremony he is just another participant. He will be available for his healing work during the day outside of our regular ceremonies.

How to choose a retreat length
If you’re unsure, this is a simple way to decide:
- 7 days: a clear first step, especially if it’s your first retreat or time is limited.
- 9–12 days: more momentum and more integration time between ceremonies.
- 3–4 week immersion: for slower, supported, continuity‑based work over multiple weeks.
We’re happy to recommend a length after a short conversation — especially if you’re coming for serious long‑term patterns or have questions about medications and safety.
Your facilitation team
Jim (Owner / Facilitator) has facilitated ayahuasca retreats full‑time since 2010. He has personally guided 250+ people through 3–4 week immersion work and has supported ~1,000 others with varying levels of involvement.
Manain (Curandero) has 40+ years of experience with ayahuasca. Jim and Manain have worked together for 8 years — continuity that is uncommon in retreat settings.
Full bios can live on the staff page; this section is intentionally short for a prices‑intent visitor.
Pricing FAQs
A short set of the questions people most often have at the pricing stage.
What’s included in the price?
Private accommodation, all meals, laundry, airport transfers (Iquitos), guided ceremonies, and integration support during the retreat. The goal is for you to focus on the work, not logistics.
What’s not included?
International flights, travel insurance, and costs in Lima/Iquitos outside the retreat (hotels, meals, etc.). If you want, we can share typical travel routes and timing.
How many people are in each group?
We keep groups small: maximum 10 guests. Many people value the quiet and the ability to step into solitude when needed.
Where are you located and how do I get there?
We’re near Iquitos, Peru (Amazon region). You will need to fly into Lima first, then on to Iquitos. We recommend arriving the day before your retreat begins to rest from your travels. Our Traveling to Iquitos page has some helpful information.
What if I can’t afford the listed price?
If you’re a strong fit and committed to the work, we may be able to make it possible. We’ll ask what you can pay and discuss options case‑by‑case.
Is there screening? What about medications or serious emotional conditions?
Yes. We do careful screening, including medical and mental‑health considerations. Our Booking Form is a part of that process. Some medications and conditions can be contraindicated. If you’re unsure, ask before booking — we’d rather have a clear conversation up front. It is important everybody reads our Ayahuasca Safety page before appling for a retreat.
