Veteran Recovers From PTSD

Brad , USA

My goal in meeting Mother Ayahuasca was to see if she would be able to help me overcome the effects of my combat P.T.S.D.. I was 67 years young then, (now 70 this month, whew!), and unsure if there was anything for an older person to gain from the experience of Ayahuasca. I remember those nights in the Maloka, and the beautiful words spoken but Manain.
Since my return back home to Dallas, Oregon, there have been adjustments both mentally, and emotionally. I have been fortunate to have some wonderful friends at a local Monastery, and the assistance of a great Spiritual Guide. The side effects of my P.T.S.D. have greatly diminished, and I have been able to live a much better life.
Jim, you and your staff allowed me the space, and opportunity to step back, and look deeply into my soul to confront the demons of my past. I will admit, it wasn't easy at first. There were days when my self doubt would step in and challenge me, but each time I would go back to my inner wisdom, and Mother Ayahuasca to help me through.
Since my return home, I have been fortunate, and blessed to continue my work with veterans, and others who are searching for validation, and strength through a more spiritual lifestyle.
Some days I just have to sit back and take it all in, remembering my time at Hummingbird, and how wonderful my life is today.
I would also like to ad, that like many other programs/retreats we may go through for self betterment, we cannot do it alone. It takes the giving up of our ego, and allowing others to help us accept the gift of life that we have been given to share.
